This is the place where the animals we rescue live and are cared for for the rest of their lives.

Our mission is to rescue and adopt animals that are mistreated or neglected so they can live freely in nature.

Meet the animals at El Cortijillo

These are some of the animals that have gone from being rescued to living freely in a natural environment.

Education is part of rescue

At the sanctuary, we try to give children the chance to interact with animals, care for them, and learn to be sensitive to them and the natural world. Because we believe it is possible to improve society's education and commitment to animals and nature.
  • Foster empathy: learning to recognise animals' needs and emotions.
  • Promote responsible ownership: the obligations that come with caring for an animal long-term.
  • Raise awareness against abandonment: making visible the reality and value of adoption over buying.
  • Share environmental knowledge: ecosystems, biodiversity, climate change, and sustainability.
  • Bring nature closer: workshops, gardens, group activities, and field experiences.

So much to be grateful for

Thanks to the help of our members and sponsors, the Pfoten-Tafel association, which helps us cover some of the cats' expenses, the Interestelar Sevilla festival, from which for the past three years we have been collecting the tarpaulins, turf and shade netting so they don't end up in the bin, and the volunteers who help us look after the animals every day.

Because the sanctuary is all of us.

What we receive, we share

When we receive large donations, the Foundation shares them with other shelters, organisations and cat colonies in Seville, the smaller and less visible ones, so that the help reaches more animals.
